Mom Heart Groups

One of the dreams of my heart for our Mom Heart Network, is that it will be a living, growing relationship from moms all over the world who feel support and friendship in their lives as moms. One of the most important and best ways for moms to provide themselves with that kind of support is by creating their own small group. I envision that women will gather with like-minded moms, read and discuss a book together, pray for one another and build their own network of moms who share their Biblical ideals.

Because Clay and I have moved 17 times, (6 times internationally), finding like minded friends has always been a challenge. I have had to start almost every group, conference or ministry project that has ended up blessing me. And yet I have found that when friends meet together around a purpose, ministry or ideals, it seems the Lord always shows up and encourages all who participate! It is because of making my godly friends a priority the past few years that I have been able to hold fast to my ideals even in the challenging times.

I envision that women will gather with like-minded moms, read and discuss a book together, pray for one another and build their own network of moms who share their Biblical ideals.

Each of my books is written with small groups in mind. I have included Bible verses, questions and applications in each book so that you may easily use these books for a small group Bible study. One of my hopes is that you will find all sorts of ideas, encouragement and inspiration to help you start a small group in your own home.

A Letter from Mom Heart Group Coach, Sandra Maddox

Dear Precious Mom Heart Leader,

As a servant leader whether you lead a small group in your home or large ministry this should be a scripture you hold dear to your heart.   So today, I would like to throw out some “food for thought” as to what God might want to say to us as leaders in this passage of scripture.

Be joyful always… even when you have cleaned your home, baked yummies and only one mom shows up!  Rejoice that this mommy is seeking fellowship, and has chosen to spend her time with you.  Rejoice that you have been given a “divine appointment” to show Christ’s love through friendship and conversation.

Pray continually…  even when you do not know specifically what to pray for.  A leader should pray for each mom God has put in your group.  Please remember what it feels like to be prayed over when you are a discouraged mom.

Give thanks…  even when the dynamics of the group do not meet our hopes or expectations.  Perhaps your group started off strong, and you are all best friends already.  Thank you God, for such a circumstance!  But if your group is still struggling to be comfortable with one another, please know that God has a plan for you and the moms in your group.  Thank you God, for your good plan, even if I don't see it quite yet!

I give thanks to our Lord for each of you who are willing to open your home and reach out to other moms just like you, who have exactly the same needs, burdens and dreams. You are serving the Lord Jesus Himself, when you extend your love to these sweet women. And you will:  “shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life” (Philippians 2:15-16)

~Sandra
